Will I lose weight?

We promote cleanses as a way to nourish your body at a cellular level to make you feel better mentally and physically. However, most people find a shift in body weight.

Are there any side effects?

The side effects of detoxification are most noticeable in the first 2-3 days of your juice cleanse. When toxins are released from your body, you may feel under the weather, experience headaches, fatigue and minor skin blemishes. These side effects should be embraced as they are signs that your body is doing work to repair and heal itself. The more pleasant the results of a juice cleanse are soon to follow, and usually include healthier looking skin, clarity of the mind, improved digestion, an overall sense of well-being, and even weight loss.

With proper hydration and rest you can reduce or eliminate these side effects.

Can I cleanse if I have a medical issue?

This question is best addressed with your primary care provider. The efficacy of some medications can be affected when consuming large amounts of fruit and vegetables.

Can I do a juice cleanse if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

It is not recommended to engage in a juice cleanse while pregnant or breastfeeding as your body needs a high amount of calories to ensure proper growth and milk production for your child. That being said, you can supplement your current diet with juices to add extra vitamins and minerals.

Where will I get my protein?

Plants are a great source of protein, especially dark leafy green such as kale, spinach, romaine lettuce, broccoli and celery. For the short duration of your cleanse (1-7 days), you should receive a sufficient amount of protein from our green juices as well as our nut milk. If you feel you need more protein, add on another nut milk when you checkout, or opt for plant based choices such as chia seeds, hemp seeds and spirulina which are complete proteins and would be preferred additives to your juice.

Where will I get my fiber?

Juicing removes the insoluble fiber from fruits and vegetables. While fiber is an essential component of a healthy diet, removing the insoluble fiber allows our bodies to conserve energy and increase the absorption of specific health promoting phytonutrients including enzymes, while the soluble fiber persists into the juice.

Overall, a juice cleanse gives our body and digestive tract a rest from having to breakdown solid food; the energy saved from normal digestion can be transferred to cleansing and healing processes.

Is it safe to do a juice cleanse if I am diabetic?

Yes, however you should consult and discuss the details with your healthcare practitioner or our Holistic Nutritionist as each individual is different. There is an informative film called “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days” which documents the process through which several individuals cure themselves of Diabetes by engaging in an all raw and juice diet. This film can be watched here.

How often should I cleanse?

Our recommendation is to cleanse for a 2-3 day period once a month. This will ensure that each month, your body has a chance to rest, recover and reboot. We understand that this is not feasible for everyone, so if you can cleanse once a season i.e. 4 times a year, it should keep your body in good repair.
